Kaiden chronicles : It was very wisely suggested to me that we get Kaiden a watch to help with time management. Great idea! Well, obviously nothing goes as planned.
My thought: oh he is going be very excited to go pick out is own cheap watch at the Walmarts.
Our actual conversation:
Me: Kaiden, what do you think about getting a watch? Kaiden (super sassy, diva hands, and accompanying voice): The only way I am getting a watch is if it is a Rolex. Me: ummmmm….no. Kaiden: Fine, then I want a watch with diamonds. Me: No. Kaiden: Fine, a pure gold watch then. Me: There are many reasons why all of these will be no. So Walmarts it is.
Fast forward a day:
Me: Buddy, why do you even know about a Rolex? (He belts out some ridiculous song). Look up the cost of a watch like that. $21,500. Kaiden: So? Me: SO?!! If you want to save up and buy your own, be my guest. Kaiden: Okay, if you will pay me $10 a month or week(whatever math we did) I can get it. Me: Cool, let’s see how long that will take you to earn enough….Answer: 179 years…. Sorry son, you will be long gone by then. Kaiden: I’ll still get it mom…. Smh! I tried. But in case you feel like buying him a gift, this would make him happy. You can’t make this stuff up! #kaidenchronicles
