Kaiden decided to push his mattress onto the floor in his room. Usually, this would not be then end of the world, but tonight, it felt pretty close. When he pushed the mattress off the frame, it got wedged between the bed frame and the door. There was no possible way I was going to get in that room to rescue this boy. Rob tried to push the door open, but it was no use. It was too tight. The bed would need to be shifted from inside the room. I tried to get Kaiden to push the bed frame just a little bit. We are yelling. He is playing. I started having visions of having to get our neighbor, the cop, to come rescue the kid through the window. Finally, we were able to push our way through the door.
I decided to do what any good, irritated, parent would do. I would call Santa on my three and a half year old. I dialed the number to have him explain the naughty and nice list. Kaiden is sure Santa can’t really see him because he can’t see Santa. I had to prove it to him. I forgot one very important detail. While handing the phone over to Kaiden I realized if you are going to call “Santa” you should probably make sure you change the picture that shows up on your phone when you dial said Santa.
